On this page are miscellaneous history maps produced by National Geographic that were too few maps to put on pages of their own. These maps deal with Medieval times and Buried Treasure.

Miscellaneous History:
Medieval History maps

1. Medieval England - October 1979 (29"x22.5")
Side A:
This side is filled with an early map of medieval England. On it are the locations of towns, churches, cathedrals, abbeys, priories, monasteries, battles, castles, early ruins, great houses and palaces that existed during this time. The map is filled with historical notes and the outside of the map is filled with illustrations and write-ups.

2. Historical Ireland: From Pre-Christian Times to the Turmoil of Today - April 1981 (20.5"x14")
Side B:
This side is divided into three sections. The center section deals with medieval Ireland from 1169 to 1690. It has a physical map color coded to show the plantation of Ireland, a drawing of the city of Cork in the early 17th century and a nice write-up on this time in history in Ireland.

3. Historical Japan - June 1984 (37"x11")
Side B:
This side covers the history of Japan through inset maps, illustrations, notes and a timeline. It includes the time from 1185 to 1868 which covers medieval and feudal Japan.

Miscellaneous History:
Buried Treasure maps

1. Sunken Treasures - July 2001 (31"x20")
Side A:
Most of this side is filled with a fantastic illustration of a Spanish ship that was part of a doomed fleet in 1554. It contains lots of notes and illustrations of what was found within the wreckage of this ship. The outside is filled with articles, pictures and maps that talks of Spain's exploiting of the New World and the archaeology involved in finding these treasures. On the right are pictures of some of the exploiters and explorers of these treasures.

2.Treasures of the World: Lost and Found - July 2001 (31"x20")
Side B:
This side is filled with a physical map of the world loaded with notes and locations of treasures. Also included are lots of illustrations of treasure items. There is also two inset maps with write-ups titled Realm of the Wine-Dark Sea and The Global Bazaar where East met West.

3. History Salvaged from the Sea - December 1977 (37"x22.5")
Side B:
Here is a huge illustration of a heavily gunned Spanish Galleon. Around the outside are several illustrations showing the cargo that would be found aboard these ships. There are also articles with titles like The Challengers who Cracked Spain's Monopoly, Cargo bound for Europe and Echoes of Shipboard Life.
