Travelers maps series

Eleven Travelers maps were put out by National Geographic between 1970 and 2003. The first was on Italy in June, 1970, and the last one on the West Indies in March, 2003. This series of maps would be great for the people thinking of traveling to these areas. One side has a large map of the country clearly showing major roads and points of interest. A lot of these points of interest have notes. The other side is filled with illustrations and facts about the history, geography and peoples of these regions.

Side B: This travel map has information on the history of the country plus hints on clothing, currency, shopping, transportation and more. It also has a list of seasonal festivals and events held throughout the year.

Side A: This map has an abundance of historical notes and inset maps of the major cities.

Side B: You will find a wealth of information on each region of France on this map, along with hints on clothing, dining, currency, sightseeing, transportation, camping and more. This map also has a list of the various festivals and events held throughout the year.

Side A: This political map has a wealth of information on national parks, events, sites of interest and tourist activities. It contains inset maps of Dublin, Edinburgh, London and Stratford-upon-Avon.

Side B: This map contains an abundance of information on interesting places, events, sites of interest and tourist activities. It has historical information about popular tourist destinations.

8. Spain and Portugal - October 1984 (36"x22.5")
Side B: You will find lots of information on the history and culture of this region on this map. There is info on tour routes, handicrafts and the Iberian wine country. It has inset maps on the Azores, the Madeira Islands and the Canary Islands.

Side A: This map features a large physical map of the Alps showing roads, highways and railroads running throughout the region.

Side B: This side of the map has a large raised relief map of the Alps on the top, and a wealth of historical and informative notes and illustrations on the region below.

11. Australia's Continental Odyssey - February 1988 (27"x20")
Side A: This is a computer-enhanced satellite image showing Australia's physical features and vegetation. It has inset maps showing Australia's growth and movement from 125 million years ago to the present.

14. A Traveler's map of Germany - September 1991 (26"x20")
Side B: You will find an abundance of historical facts and information on scenic roadways, tourist sites and castles, religious buildings, monuments, resorts and more here. It has inset maps of the major cities of the country.

15. Mexico map - September 1994 (30"x20")
Side A: This is a political map of Mexico featuring the locations of national parks and a striking ocean bathymetry.

Side B: This is a beautiful travelers map of Mexico, which has an introduction to the diverse landscape, and filled with notes on sites of interest and activities to be found here. It contains inset maps of Baja California, Mexico City, the Yucatan Peninsula and the Copper Canyon.

17. Spain and Portugal - December 1998 (31"x20") Side A: This side is a political map of Spain and Portugal showing the major roads and railways throughout the region. It has inset maps of Lisbon, Madrid and Barcelona, along with inset maps of the Azores, the Madeira Islands and the Canary Islands.

It contains inset maps on Costa de Lisboa, Algarve, Andalusia, the Basque region, Catalonia's Coast and beyond Madrid.

20. A Traveler's Map of Britain and Ireland - June 2000 (31"x20") Side B: This is a beautiful physical map of Britain and Ireland. It contains lots of interesting notes on several areas of the region. There are also inset maps of London, Edinburgh and Dublin.

Side A: Here is a political map of the West Indies with notes on its geography. It has inset street maps of Nassau, Old San Juan, Charlotte Amalie, George Town and Havana.

22. A Traveler's Map of The West Indies - March 2003 (31"x20")
Side B: This side has a detailed physical map of the West Indies filled with notes on the history and geography of this region. It includes twenty inset physical maps of different Islands including information on each of these islands.
