National Geographic produced several maps of South America detailing the whole continent. They also produced regional maps with detailed insets of the cities from each region. Several physical maps were produced showing the geography, history and cultures of this continent.

1. Map of South America - October 1921 (37"x26") This map has a beautiful political map of South America with economic, climate and physical map insets.

 2. South America - December 1937 (37"x26") This is a political map of South America during the early part of the 20th century. Included are map insets showing the chief natural resources, airways and relief, and precipitation/temperatures.

3. South America - October 1942 (39"x27.5") This is a political map with insets showing the chief natural resources, airways and relief, and annual precipitation/temperature. It also has an inset map of the Galapagos Islands.

4. South America - October 1950 (40"x29") This map will show a vast increase in roads and railways from the map put out in 1942. It includes a small physical map of the continent.

5. South America - February 1960 (25"x19") This has a political map of South America and thirteen inset maps showing individual islands or island groups.

6. South America - October 1972 (30"x23")
Side B:
A political map of South America showing the newly independent Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana.

7. South America - August 1992 (28"x20")
Side B:
Beautiful political map with colorful and distinctive borders. It includes a supplemental map "Amazonia - A World Resource at Risk" on the flip side.

1. Valley of the Orinoco River - February 1896 (17"x11") This antique map of the Valley of the Orinoco River shows the extent of territory drained by that waterway. It shows the proposed Panama Canal.

2. Eastern South America - March 1955 (40"x29") Fine political map of Eastern South America. It includes an inset map of Rio de Janeiro.

3. Southern South America - March 1958 (25"x19") This is a political map of Southern South America with inset maps of Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Santiago.

4. Eastern South America - September 1962 (25"x19") Here is a political map of Eastern South America with inset maps of Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.

5. Northwestern South America - February 1964 (25"x19") This is a political map of Northwestern South America with inset maps of Bogotá, Caracas and Lima.

This map shows the Inca and other South American civilizations. It has an abundance of historical notes and illustrations of pre-Columbian artifacts, ruins and sites.

3. Indians of South America - March 1982 (37"x22.5")
Side B:
This physical map of South America shows the diverse tribes of the continent. It shows the six main Indian groups with individual tribes listed in their respective areas.

4. Spain in the Americas - February 1992 (29"x20.5")
Side A:
This physical map is filled with information and illustrations showing the extent of the Spanish occupation of the Americas including South America.

5. The Grand Exchange - February 1992 (29"x20.5")
Side B:
This map shows all the varied exports from North and South America to Europe from the time of Columbus's second visit. It is rich in informative notes and illustrations.

6. The Inca - May 2002 (31"x20")
Side A:
This is a beautiful physical map of the western coast of South America showing the extent of the Inca civilization. It is rich in historical notes and pictures of Inca artifacts.
