This page lists all the biblical maps put out by National Geographic including the maps that deal with the Holy Land and Jerusalem. They are listed from the earliest one down to the most recent map.

1. Bible Lands and the Cradle of Western Civilization - December 1938 (34.5"x24.5") This is an early biblical map of the Middle East and Southern USSR. This map has lots of notes explaining early historic sites of this region.

2. Bible Lands and the Cradle of Western Civilization - December 1946 (32"x22") This is a beautiful biblical map of the Bible Lands filled with historical notes of interest. Also included are inset maps of the Holy Land Today, the Holy Land in Biblical Times, the Traditional Route of the Exodus, St. Paul's Travels and the Seven Churches, the Crusades and Jerusalem.

3. Lands of the Bible Today - December 1956 (41"x29") This is a huge political map of the lands of the bible with colorful distinctive borders. This map is completely filled with notes pointing out historic sites including several archaeological excavations.

4. Holy Land Today - December 1963 (25"x19") Here is a beautiful biblical map of Israel, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon full of descriptive notes of historic sites and archaeological digs. There is an inset map showing a bigger area of the Middle East plus an inset map of the walled city of Jerusalem.

5. Lands of the Bible Today - December 1967 (41"x29") This is an updated map of the one put out in December 1956. It is also filled with historical notes on sites of interest throughout the map. There is a large inset map of the Holy Land and inset maps of the walled city of Jerusalem, the Traditional Route of the Exodus, St. Paul's Four Great Journeys and the Crusades.

6. Special Places of the World: Holy Land - December 1989 (31"x20") Side A: This side has a beautiful physical map of the Holy Land filled with historical and archaeological notes. Special sites on the map are color coded to show what periods people occupied these sites, Stone and Bronze Ages (ca 500,000 to 1200 BC), Israelite and Persian periods (ca 1200 to 332 BC), Hellenistic and Roman periods (332 BC to AD 324), Byzantine period (AD 324 to 640) and Islamic period (AD 640 to 1917).

7. Special Places of the World: Holy Land - December 1989 (31"x20") Side B: This side is filled with inset maps and write-ups on the Holy Land. It includes a relief of the Holy City with major sites of interest pointed out. On the bottom is a street map of the Holy City and a physical map of the area around the Holy City with the locations of historic buildings and ruins marked by periods occupied.

8. Jerusalem Map - April 1996 (20"x15.5")
Side A:
This side has a large biblical map of Jerusalem and surrounding area. It has lots of historical notes and locations of points of interest. On the top are map insets of Jerusalem during the First Temple period 1000 to 586 BC, Second Temple period 538 BC to AD 70, Early Arab period 638 to 1099 and Crusader period 1099 to 1187.

9. Jerusalem: The Old City - April 1996 (20"x15.5")
Side B:
This side shows the Old City Jerusalem color coded to show the Christian quarter, Muslim quarter, Armenian quarter, Jewish quarter and Mount Moriah. Many points of historical interest are marked on the map.
